Alright, so I’ve been wanting to do some sort of 30 day challenge for a few months now, and I’ve been tossing around a few different ideas. Now that it’s the first, I need to set something in stone before another month goes by. This is a little (or a lot) different than most 30 day challenges you’re going to see this summer, I can tell you that much.
As some of you may know, I’ve struggled with gaining weight and keeping it on for as long as I can remember. It’s not that I don’t eat, my body is just naturally really tiny. I don’t have a vision of what I think my “best body” would be, but I’ve been consistently underweight for pretty much my entire life. I’m not life-threateningly thin or anything like that, but I could afford to gain a few pounds. I think I’d finally like to hit a little over a hundred.
With the help of my Fitbit account, Poptarts, and Ensure Plus drinks, I managed to put on a few pounds a few months ago, but I quickly lost focus and I think I’m back to where I was right after I started. The problem is my high metabolism: I burn more calories than I eat for the most part and it’s completely unintentional. I just have to find time to eat more or something, which is hard when your job is talking on the phone all day.
With that being said, for the next 30 days, my goal is to eat at least 100 calories more than I burn every day. Right now, some days I’m way over and others I’m under because I fill up on low calorie garbage. To help me keep track of my progress, I’d like to post screen shots about once a week of my Fitbit account. I didn’t take a starting weight this morning (whoops) but I’ve been pretty close to 97.6 lbs for that last few weeks so we’re going to go with that (it fluctuates a lot anyway).
With that being said, day one is starting out with a cup of oatmeal bright and early! My hope is that after a full 30 days of keeping up with consciously eating, it will become a way of life that I won’t have to try at. Happy Monday, everyone. Just a couple more months until Halloween and fall everything 🙂
