Okay so I’m not sure what these blankets are technically called, but I usually just refer to them as knot blankets. My last dog had a blanket and she loved it; so much so that we actually buried her in it. I figured since my parents got a new puppy, it was only right to make him one, too (even if he is a chewer). We just have to make sure he only has it when he’s sleeping and not chewing.
The price of this project really just depends on how much you spend on fabric. I found some super cute fabric for under $5 a yard so that’s all I spent!
- Fabric (I used 1 yard)
You’ll want to start out by cutting off the extra fabric at the end of the fabric. It’s usually a white strip on the fabric I buy (I use fleece).
Next, start at one corner and cut into the fabric about an inch in. You’ll want to make the cut about two inches long, but this really depends on how big you want the knots to be. From my experience, it’s easier to tie the knots of the strips are longer than they are wide.
Continue doing this the entire way around the blanket.
Tie the strips into knots.
Pull the blanket from all corners to make sure it lays flat.
That’s it! I tried to make this as clear as possible but I’m sure there are other sites that have better instructions. I’ve been making these for years for people and pets so it’s not a tutorial that I’ve ever looked up. If anything is unclear or confusing, feel free to reach out to me and let me know!
