Breathe. It’s finally Friday!
It’s been one of those weeks where customer service life has me feeling and acting like a bit of a nutcase and I’ve been on edge for most of it. There’s nothing quite like going into work every day and being screamed at for something that’s not your fault at least once a day.
I don’t make the rules people, but I have to follow them. I think next week I’ll be writing a do’s and don’t’s post for all of you who might be curious as to how you should be treating us customer service reps. But I’m going to focus on the weekend for now! I have the freedom to sit on my porch right now and type away on my trusty little Macbook. My gaming computer is cool, but it will never replace my baby.
This weekend I have a lot of fun options open to me. It’s the last week of Ren Fest, I was invited to attend the Highland Games in Idlewild, and the new Smart car is ready to go on test drives. The problem is, I suck at making decisions. I could very easily make it to both the Highland Games and Ren Fest, but I wouldn’t have time to do anything else and I’d be exhausted for the beginning of next week. I’ve never been to the Highland Games, so I was leaning towards that…but Ren Rest is tradition. I’ve gone pretty much every year for as long as I can remember, and it is nice to be somewhere when you can be rude right back to the people who hassle you. I have a little more time to think about it, I just want to make sure I make the right decision, even though I know I’ll have fun either way. Little things like this stress me out, but I think I will figure something out.
All of that aside (my brain is going in a thousand directions today – Friday!), I think I’m going to do a post every week that focuses on some positive things that happened throughout the week. I might post it today if I have time, or it might be a Saturday/Sunday type deal. I’m not sure yet, I’m still trying to toss the idea around and figure out what works best. The earlier I do it in the week, the more I’ll be forced to find good things that happen Monday-Friday instead of focusing on the weekend, which is what would probably happen, since I live for the weekends. Let me know what you think!
