Today we’re talking about swag. But not like Bieber’s swag, like the swag that you buy. Like merchandise swag. We’re talking about getting bucks so you can buy swag (or maybe food, whichever you’re needing more).
Swagbucks is a website where you can do just that! (If you use this link to sign up, I get bonus points for your referral yayyy!! Don’t worry, it’s free) You can watch videos, play games, search online for swag codes, and take surveys to earn points.
I find myself letting the videos play in the background while I’m playing games or doing something around the house, but that’s just me. You can even earn points just by searching the internet if you use their toolbar. If you refer your friends, you’ll earn a percentage of the points they earn for life. Sweet.
As I said in last week’s post, you’re probably going to want to make sure you have a separate email for all your survey fun. The emails can get to be a little overwhelming when you’re signed up for multiple sites, and it’s annoying to have to filter around them in your primary inboxes.
There are tons of things that you can choose from to spend your points on, thought I’ve been saving up for a $50 Paypal credit. You can get different gift cards (Amazon, Target, eBay), enter sweepstakes, and even donate to charity! You just go to the rewards store, choose your prize, and exchange your bucks for prizes!
I think it’s good to mention that there is a mobile site and app for Swagbucks, but they’re pretty lacking so I don’t use either of them. They’re missing a lot of the features you use to earn points, so you end up having to go on a desktop or laptop anyway. I think they’re working on making it possible to do more with them, but right now everything you need can be accessed through the desktop site.
Overall, it’s starting to pay off for me. I started this around the same time as Pinecone a few months ago, and I’m pretty close to being able to purchase a $50 giftcard. I’ve tried to be pretty diligent with keeping up with daily surveys, but some days I’m just too busy and I end up missing out on a lot of points.
A word of warning: I’ve read some online complaints about them not paying out, but since I haven’t hit my point goal I haven’t cashed out. I’ve heard mostly good things, so hopefully they do pay me! If not, I’l update the blog, to reflect that. Also, a bit of your personal information is required to sign up, so if you’re not into giving out your address, then this might not be the place for you. I’m sure they make money by selling your information, but I can say that since I started I haven’t received any junk mail or anything like that. As usual, just be mindful of what you put online (:
*I’d like to make note that no one is paying me to endorse companies or anything like that, so everything I post about on here is 100% my honest opinion
EDIT: I have cashed out with my Swagbucks at this point. It did take a little while for the whole thing to go through, but it was pretty exciting once I got everything deposited into my bank account! I can confirm that this process was legit for me.
