I figured it might be fun (and slightly educational) to make either weekly or bi-weekly posts about little things that I do to earn money on the side. While I’m not side hustling like some pros and making thousands of extra dollars a month, I have found some websites/apps that I’ve been using the past few months to earn money here and there. My original plan was to save it all until the end of the year, cash out, and buy myself something (like that DSLR camera I’ve been looking at for years), but I think the new plan since money’s tight after the move is to use my extra earnings for Christmas shopping since I don’t think it’s going to fit into the budget this year.
I’ll start off with a site I started using sometime in the spring that I have earned about $75 through so far. Pinecone Research is a site that I’ve been using to take weekly surveys and do occasional reviews for money. You have to get approved first, and they want you to be honest (no lying!!), but I got approved to join within a week. While it does take a while to add up, most surveys pay about $3. You earn points by taking surveys/reviewing products that they send you and you can use those points to buy prizes or cash out via check/Paypal. My advice to everyone that is trying to take advantage of the survey life is to make a separate email to give to these kinds of sites. It makes it much easier to see when you qualify for a survey, and it won’t clutter up your primary email inboxes.
So far, I’ve gotten about one or two surveys a week and they don’t take long. They send you an email when you qualify for a survey, and they will link you to the task. I’d say most last about 10-25 minutes at most, depending on the questions they’re asking you. Some surveys go into more detail than others, but none of them have been so obnoxiously boring that I’ve called it quits.
I know when I started searching online for things to do to earn money, I was trying to find ways I could earn money when I was sitting at home without anything to do that wouldn’t suck up all of my free time. Taking surveys will definitely not pay for my school loans every month, but it could be helping me put a bit of gas into my tank or grab a bite to eat when I’m out and about. Hopefully this finds someone well in the mass of blogs that are already out there about making a little extra cash.
If you have any sites or apps that you use to earn side cash, let me know and I’ll check it out (if I haven’t already!)
*I’d like to make note that no one is paying me to endorse companies or anything like that, so everything I post about on here is 100% my honest opinion
EDIT: I have since cashed out with Pinecone and I can confirm that it is 100% legit! My first reward was sent as a check in the mail and the second was deposited in my Paypal account. I’m using survey money for my Christmas shopping this year!
